Who would have thought I would ever be so excited to see Mondays come....? I was so glad that Tuesdays follow Mondays, that I didn't even care that it was a Monday!!!!! TUESDAY IS QUILT CLASS DAY--YAY! I am so excited to start sewing my quilt pieces together. I am sure i will have a lot of homework this week, so maybe it won't seem so long until next Tuesday. I will keep you updated with my progress!!!

TGIF
Since I have already finished my "homework" for quilting class, i decided to just sew. I had already cut the pieces to make 5 pillowcases for the 1,000,000 pillowcase challenge, so I finished them all. They turned out really cute and I hope they end up being really loved and treasured by someone in need. If you haven't made any to donate yet, please consider doing it. It is fun and the pillowcases you make will be counted in the national challenge, but donated in your area. For more information please visit http://www.allpeoplequilt.com/millionpillowcases/

Quilting Class Homework
Well, I came home from a very busy, complicated and frustrating day and decided to quilt!!! Ahhhhh, how that helped. It is wonderful to forget everything else when I concentrate on creativity. The homework from my class was to finish cutting my strips before the next class. It was so easy to keep my strips straight by using the "fabric squaring" method i posted about earlier. Now I am ready for the second class Tuesday. (can't wait!!)

Let the Quilting (class) Begin
Well, last night was my very first quilting class. I was so excited!! I have been sewing for a long, long, long time and have made everything from clothes, to toys, to blankets, to formals and even a wedding dress. I have tried my hand at quilts and they are "OK" but just not quite right. I want to know the "tricks of the trade", so i signed up with a friend.
I decided to go into the class with an open mind and pay attention as if I had never sewn before. I actually learned something!!! I learned how to cut perfectly straight and square by using the rulers for measurements rather than the markings on the cutting mat. (A completely different way of thinking for me.) It really does make a difference in how accurate and straight your cuts are. If you are interested in learning how to do this, check back later and I will post a link to a tutorial, if I can find one.
HAPPY QUILTING :)
